Unless otherwise noted, General Meetings (GMs, or Emergency GMs, EGMs) will be held at the usual Zoom link. Write to Francis if you need this. Please submit motions to Francis at least two days in advance of any GM or EGM.

Minutes for General Meetings are kept and approved at subsequent meetings. These are shared on Slack. Contact Caleb to be added to Slack. Motions carried by General Meetings become branch policy. These are recorded on Godric.

New members (or members who just want a refresher) can check out our Beginners’ Guide to Pickets and Strikes for helpful info on taking strike action.

If you’d like to add something to this calendar, write to comms@durhamucu.org.uk.

Get involved

Action Planning Committee (APC) is open to all members. Get in touch, and we’ll pop your name on the contact list. APC currently meets on Thursdays from 14:00 to 15:00, online on Zoom.

We can always use more reps for departments and groups of staff. A list of current reps is available on Godric under “List of office-holders.” Even if your departmental or group already has a rep, the more the merrier. You can also be a local contact rather than a rep. Both roles are generally quite flexible. Contact the co-presidents about becoming a rep or local contact.

Reps or other members sometimes organise departmental meetings, or meetings for groups of members (e.g. migrant members, research members). Get in touch with the relevant reps to ensure you’re on the relevant contact lists.

DUCU Committee meetings are closed, but if you have something you’d like Committee to consider, please reach out, and we’ll add your item to the next available agenda.
