Following Durham UCU members’ overwhelming mandate on pensions cuts, a similarly clear message has been delivered on the “Four Fights”, covering conditions and pay. UCU is calling on employers to:
- address the scandal of the gender, ethnic, and disability pay gap
- end contract casualisation and rising job insecurity
- tackle the rising workloads driving our members to breaking point
- increase to all spine points on the national pay scale of £2,500.
63.7% of members voted, of whom 72.9% backed strike action and 85.4% backed action short of a strike.
